Dear Kerry,
We had an absolute blast while staying at the White Haven. The views and scenery around was beautiful and serene. Honeoye Lake is not as frequently visited by tourists, which made the vacation even more special. We enjoyed every bit of the week we spent there, getting fresh bread and muffins from the bakery (Cornerstone Market) every day, the kids fishing on the lake, the lakeside grilling in the evenings and the comfortable cabin. Want to thank you for going above and beyond our expectations and taking us on a boat ride on your boat, an experience the kids will cherish. Thanks for promptly taking care of everything and mailing back the deposit within days of our return. I hope you can post this on your site. If we come back to the Finger Lakes, we would love to come stay there again.

Dear Kerry,
We just received our security deposit check in the mail. Thank you for sending it so quickly! As usual, you are right on top of things. I know that it goes without saying, but we can't thank you enough for giving Lisa and I (and our friends & family!) the opportunity to enjoy some time back at beautiful Honeoye Lake. Since that Memorial Day weekend back in 2008, when you were able to get us into White Haven at the very last minute, on that Friday night, we haven't had to look any further for absolutely outstanding accommodations at extremely reasonable prices each year. The only disappointment this past summer was that we never got around to staying at the Field House...(can't wait to see the new kitchen!!!). Oh well, I know that we'll be there soon enough. As always, the Adirondack Retreat and White Haven were fabulous, of course. Clean, warm, and inviting. We can't wait to come back again next year for some fantastic large mouth bass fishing and relaxing nights by the fire. My wife loves to take the dog for long walks at Harriet Hollister Spencer & Sandy Bottom Parks, so she's looking forward to coming back, too.
I've lost count of how many times we've rented from you since that weekend in 2008 - it has to be at least a dozen - and I honestly can't think of any instance when there was a real problem; and you've always made yourself available...no matter what. Unless we're fortunate enough to one day own our own cottage on Honeoye, I'm looking forward to working with you & Chris for years to come. Thank so much for making us feel like family, while always maintaining complete professionalism. It's really a breath of fresh air to work with someone with real warmth, and integrity to boot.
See you in 2011!

Kerry,
Got our note and check from you today. We all have commented at some point that we wish we were back at "our" lakehouse. It was wonderful and exactly what we needed...we just got news that my husband and son (who stayed with us) are being deployed to Iraq soon for a year. NOT what we were expecting but it makes the time we spent together as a family that much more important. So again thank you for renting to us - it was better than we had ever wished for. God bless you and if things work out we will be back next year - same time same place.

Kerry & Chris,
Thanks so much for the use of your cottage. This place is amazing! So quaint and homey - we didn't want to leave. We appreciate the hospitality. Thanks for letting us borrow the hatchet and fishing pole - both came in handy (especially once we realized one of the poles we brought was broken!) We'll definitely be back!
Thanks again,
Stacey and Jeremy
"If you are looking for a wonderful, peaceful lake view of beautiful Honeoye Lake and spacious accommodations, you will not need to look any further. Honeoye Lake Rentals should be your one and only call. We have had the pleasure of staying at both White Haven and the Adirondack A-Frame. Both are beautiful and have every amenity that you could possibly need. You will find that the rental rates are very competitive and a great value for what you are actually getting. Upon arrival you will find the rental clean and inviting with a welcome basket waiting for you on the table and even a personal note from Kerry. Kerry is a pure pleasure to work with and is always willing to accommodate your needs. She will make sure that you have everything that you need and will make the necessary arrangements to accommodate a need if one should arise. When asked if there was anything that needed to be added or addressed a few years back the only thing that came to mind was to ask for perhaps a longer dock. The following year low and behold there was a longer dock.
If you are looking to relax and get some fishing or boating in, you will not be disappointed. The rentals are located directly across the lake from the public launch and have great flat lake frontage. Honeoye is great for fishing for bass, walleye, sunfish, blue-gill and crappie. We have three teenagers and if we can keep all of them happy that is saying something. We spend our time fishing, tubing, swimming and just tooling around in the boat. The kids also like the fact that there is an ice cream boat that goes around the lake as well.
During our stays we have also visited Geneseo (shopping ~ Wegmans and a super Walmart & food ~ tons of fast food), Minnehans (go carts, miniature golf and arcade), the movie theatre in Canandaigua, ice cream in town and at Gullaces in Bloomfield. Cummings Nature Center & Bristol are also a short drive from the rentals. Trident Marina is located across the lake so you can get all the bait you want and any boating necessities needed. You will find a grocery and drug store located in town for easy shopping access. There is also a great playground at the Honeoye Central School located in town."

"Having been brought up in the beautiful NY North Country on Lake Champlain, I was absolutely taken with the ambiance of the Adirondack Lodge. I made a decision to rent the lodge instantaneously after meeting Kerry Sherman, the property manager. Her sincerity and unpretentious manner made me feel that this space was going to be an annual part of my family’s future summer vacation experience. I have since rented the lodge in the fall, winter and spring along with our 4-5 week summer vacations. Kerry and her husband Chris have done everything to make sure our every need was met. I remember calling them on New Year’s eve with an issue with the water pump. They came all dressed up on their way to a party to assess the problem and return to fix it and before leaving, obviously late for their party, bringing us two bottles of champagne for the inconvenience that we had endured. This is so unusual in this world of fast pace and indifference. The lodge is always warm, inviting and meticulously clean. My family loves the quiet and tranquil simplicity of the lake and its surroundings. We will rent here for many years to come."

Hi Kerry- I'm sure you have a million and don't need another - but this is a heartfelt note and thanks for all the wonderful times we have spent in your beautiful cottage.
The Honeoye Field House is our favorite Summer vacation spot! We look forward to staying there every year - not just for the lovely view, lakefront access, boat dock, all the space in the cottage, bathrooms, grill; piano & cable TV & cards, books, puzzles for rainy days - but also for the warmth and hospitality of our thoughtful hostess Kerry who always makes sure we have everything we need and more. For 7+ years and counting, our family looks forward to staying at the Field House to enjoy all the lake-front fun and relaxation that Honeoye Lake has to offer. Looking forward to many more!
Best,
Paula
HISTORY:
History of Honeoye Lake
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honeoye,_New_York
Honeoye Lake, one of New York state's famous Finger Lakes, is located in beautiful Ontario County. Clean and pristine, this minor Finger Lake is the county's blue jewel, providing residents and visitors with more than 1,700 acres of outdoor activity and water fun.
The lake, whose name is an Iroquois word meaning "where the finger lies," is the tenth smallest of the eleven Finger Lakes. Though often thought to be formed by shifting ice masses during the Ice Age, the Finger Lakes were actually preglacial stream valleys or small lakes before the Ice Age, molded and carved into their current form by the shifting glaciers. Many years after their formation, the Iroquois Native Americans arrived to the Finger Lakes area, cultivating the land, fishing the waters, and hunting animals for food.
Today, the Finger Lakes are one of New York's top vacation destinations, pulling in more than $200 million in tourism dollars each year. Honeoye Lake, though comparatively small, welcomes more than its fair share of visitors. Indeed, anglers flock to the lake each year, dreaming of Honeoye's teems of black crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, pickerel, pumpkinseed, rockbass, smallmouth bass, walleye, and yellow perch. As many will tell you, there's no bad spot or time to fish on Honeoye: the lake's fish bite anytime, anywhere. Among those dedicated enough to brave the winter cold, ice fishing is a Honeoye specialty.
The lake's primary use is water-based recreation, and fishing is only the beginning. During summer months, the reservoir is alive with activity, and Honeoye Lake's surface is always dotted with canoes, kayaks, speed boats, and the occasional sail boat. If you plan to boat, both the Honeoye Lake Public Boat Launch and Sandy Bottom Beach recreation area offer public boat launches. Both are maintained during winter, as well, providing lake access to ice fishers.
Begin your Honeoye Lake vacation at Sandy Bottom Beach, where you can launch your boat, lunch in the picnic pavilion, play baseball at the recreation area's baseball diamond, and amuse the kids at the playground. Dip your toes into Honeoye's inviting waters, which, with a maximum depth of just 30 feet, are the warmest of all Finger Lake waters. If swimming doesn't appeal, simply relax and enjoy the sun along the lifeguarded, sandy beach.
If lounging lakeside is a good way to spend the day, then boating along Honeoye Lake can only be called the lake's most beautiful experience. Taking a boat out onto Honeoye is the best way to discover hidden treasures along the lake's almost 11-mile shoreline, which welcomes bathing birds, shy wildlife, and an incredible wealth of second-growth forest. So when it's finally time to hit the water, launch your boat, head out into the great aquatic wilderness, and ready yourself for scenery that will both amazing and relax you.
As summer fades to fall, and later winter, you'll find that Honeoye is one of those unique lakes that merely shifts focus, offering year round recreational opportunities. Thanks to its northern location and altitude, Honeoye is home to a spectacular autumn leaf spectacle. Each year, the lake's shores blaze with red, orange, and yellow leaves, whose beauty is only rivaled by their own reflections along the lake's crystalline waters. In winter, colorful leaves fade into pure white snow, the perfect canvass for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and, of course, a good, old-fashioned snowball fight.
No matter what the season, there is one area attraction worth a day trip from Honeoye Lake. Letchworth State Park, located just 35 miles from your freshwater paradise, is one of New York's most incredible displays of gushing water, carved-out rock, and emerald-green scenery, offering miles of walking trails for visitors' enjoyment. Three major waterfalls, one the largest in the state, are enough to take your breath away, and their protective Portage Canyon, nicknamed the "Grand Canyon of the East," will do the same. Postcard-perfect scenery awaits, so a trip here is truly a must.
Only Honeoye Lake's acreage is small, as the New York reservoir is big on year round fun, fishing, and water sports. Vacationing here is the ideal mix of relaxation and active fun, offering a quiet Finger Lake escape, convenient to all activities. After just one vacation, you'll know why so many call Honeoye their favorite Finger Lake.
